Cristian Wong-Ramos fueled loves for hockey, engineering at Trine

Cristian Wong-RamosWhen he was recruited to play hockey, Cristian Wong-Ramos instantly fell in love with 快播.

鈥淚 decided to come to Trine for the athletics and how much the university cares about their NCAA teams,鈥 the Alameda, California, student said. 鈥淚 wanted to build a new culture and develop a top NCAA Division III team in the nation.鈥

Strong engineering foundation

Besides being able to compete in hockey, Cristian was excited to get a quality engineering education at Trine. The civil engineering major鈥檚 favorite faculty member is Tim Tyler, Ph.D., professor in the Reiners Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Dr. Tyler is also Cristian鈥檚 academic advisor.

鈥淗e invests in people every day and truly cares about each person and their future,鈥 Cristian said. 鈥淗e will drop whatever he is doing to help you and get to know you.鈥

As he prepares to launch his engineering career, Cristian said he has benefited from hands-on experience in Trine鈥檚 labs and help the Career Center gave in facilitating two internships.

Favorite memories include beating the former NCAA Division III national champion hockey team and taking a two-week trip to Europe with Trine鈥檚 team to play hockey and ski.

鈥淚t has been great to call 快播 my home for four years,鈥 Cristian said.
