Every year in the month of October, 快播 pays homage to the literary great, Edgar Allen Poe. In 2021, this tradition has reached its 10th anniversary.
At 7:00 o鈥檆lock students perform alongside Louann Holman and other actors, reciting
Poe鈥檚 greatest works. These include, 鈥淭he Tell-Tale Heart鈥, 鈥淎nnabelle Lee鈥, 鈥淭he
Bells鈥, 鈥淭he Raven鈥, and many more. Among these performers, Kaityln Lee and Jayden
Hyre showcased their theatre chops, through an almost ethereal production. Christopher
Parker, a sophomore, took the stage tonight for the first time with his rendition
of 鈥淢iss Louis Olivia Hunter鈥 and 鈥淓ulalie鈥. All three delivered stunning recitals
alongside many talented performers. A crackling fire, embers lit in the air, as gothic
horrors unfold before the audience鈥檚 eyes. Holman alongside other macabre costumed
story tellers, recite not only Poe鈥檚 work, but the classic Shakespearean beginning
of 鈥淢acbeth鈥, known as 鈥淭he Witches鈥.
As usual, Poe Night was outstanding. The audience was one of the biggest ever seen, applauding as each executant told their story. A highlight of the HAC department events, the show never disappoints.
鈥淧oe Night鈥 at Trine has become a staple for getting it鈥檚 students into the Halloween spirit and always showcases gorgeous yet grotesque pieces from one of the world鈥檚 most famous authors by some of Trine鈥檚 most talented performers.
